Up on the blog today; Linda + Sam’s Cathedral Rock Elopement in Sedona, AZ! They had an epic full-day elopement day with their immediate family. Keep on reading for a closer look into their adventurous day!
Cathedral Rock Elopement Day
They picked a couple local Airbnbs to get ready in separately, both with their best friends and family. They enjoyed a chill morning, writing their vows to each other and soaking in quality time with their loved ones. Whether you choose to get ready separate or together, there are so many ways to make the experience intentional and less stressful. I loved the way they and their family embraced the day with a relaxed energy, focusing on the couple!
Elopement Ceremony With Family
The ceremony location they chose was a short quarter-mile hike to an open view of Bell rock and Courthouse vista. It had a slight incline, but even Linda’s grandpa was able to get there with no problem. They got to have the adventure elopement exerience while still keeping it accessible for their guests.
Linda’s grandpa even officiated their ceremony and the guests created an aisle for Linda to walk down. Such a sweet way to really make the formalities intimate. After their sweet ceremony, we stuck around to get formal family photos, enjoy the view, and then we packed up to beat the rain to the parking lot.
Luckily we made it to our cars JUST IN TIME as the desert storm hit with a vengeance. We made a pit stop at Berry Divine for smoothies to wait for the rain to pass. The perfect adventure elopement cocktail hour. As the sun started to peak out again we headed to Cathedral Rock for bridal portraits.
A perk of the storm was there was hardly anyone around and they had most of the usually crowded area all to themselves! We took full advantage of that. They read private vows, had their first dance, and admired the view – with incredible storm clouds and lightning in the distance, and a gorgeous sunset sky peaking through the clouds.
We stayed out until it was getting dark and then we met with the rest of their families again for a little elopement reception. They hosted the small party at one of their Airbnb’s; where they had food, cake, and games prepared for the celebraion. They did another first dance to a different song with their families, and added in the mother-son dance, father-daughter dance, and then they played games the rest of the night. Such a fun family-centered initmate wedding.
