Megan + Chloe had a big traditional wedding despite originally wanting to elope. They loved spending the time with their friends and family, but really wished they had planned an adventure elopement. They wanted couple’s portraits that were more authentic to them, so they booked me for adventure bridals in Arizona! We explored the epic red rocks in Prescott, and in true adventure elopement style; they even got in the lake at the end!
What are Adventure Bridal Portraits
Want to get adventure bridal portraits without sacrificing your traditional wedding? It’s not too late to get the experience of an elopement day. Even if you already had your big day, or have the traditional wedding coming up; you can still have an adventurous bridal session! Whether you just want to take amazing portraits in an epic landscape, explore a new area with your honey, or read your vows in private; the options are endless!
Adventure bridal portraits give you the chance to do any or all of those things; in addition to your wedding plans. If you wanted to plan an elopement in Arizona, but have a wedding day already planned out – no worries! You can always get dressed up in your wedding attire (or something totally different!) Another fun option is planning an adventurous vow renewal a year later! Some people like to do “trash the dress” shoots where they go crazy on the adventure and don’t stress about any dirt or tears that happen to the already used wedding dress!
How to Plan an Adventure Bridal Session
Here’s a couple tips on how to plan your dream adventure elopement shoot!
Pick a place you love. Desert, beach, mountains, city; where do you guys love to be together? Pick a place you both are stoked about! You don’t have to have ever been there before – that could be part of the adventure in itself! Choosing a new place to explore together is a rad way to celebrate your journey together.
Make it an extended trip. Don’t stress about planning ONE day. Extend your adventure over a couple days and make a vacation out of it! Book a romantic Airbnb or spa weekend, plan some excursion at a National Park, visit that festival you’ve always wanted to go to, etc. SO many ways to make an adventure elopement session more than just a photoshoot!
Get pampered. Worried about doing your own hair and makeup? Don’t be afraid to go all out and book an appointment! Treat yourself to a new haircut, get bridal makeup done by a pro, anything you want to make the experience feel good for you! We want you feeling totally confident at your photoshoot and you don’t have to go DIY unless you want to!
Book an adventurous photographer! *cough* ME *cough* No seriously this ones important! If you want a photographer to document an adventurous bridal session in all it’s glory, hire someone who’s vision and heart aligns with yours! Find someone who loves to explore and hike on the trails you dream of visiting, and ask the questions that matter!
