Words from the Couple About Their Sedona Small Wedding
Why did you choose to elope?
“At the core of it, we wanted something simple and intimate with our family. The hope was that the day was centered around time together, and having plenty of time just the two of us to share our promises and love. We also wanted a memorable travel trip that we will always remember!”
How was your elopement?
“Our elopement started with a sunrise hike to Cathedral Rock. We changed into our wedding attire at the top and shared a first look as well as our private vows. This was one of our favorite parts because we got to enjoy a gorgeous sunrise, hike a beautiful mountain, and read our vows to each other in a place we will never forget. We loved how natural the morning felt – we came across a few hikers and they LOVED the wedding attire. It was so fun to enjoy our morning and feel zero pressure on a timeline to enjoy our first look.
We finished the day with a hike with our family to a wedding location on Baby Bell Rock. Our favorite part of this was the “mini-camp” our family set up- we chose the wedding spot on site and everyone changed shoes and took off jackets there! We will never forget our ceremony, because we got to have our family involved and present in a meaningful way. After the ceremony, we had a private first dance and truly soaked in the sunset. We felt that the day was really low-key. There was zero stress and we got to truly slow down and enjoy the process of getting married.
Looking back on the day, it was a day filled with adventure and so much love!”
Do you have any regrets about your elopement?
“We have absolutely zero regrets about our elopement. We brought only parents and siblings, and it was a group of about 10 people total. These people saw our relationship from the start and were there to witness the start of forever. Eloping took away all the stress of planning a wedding!”
What advice do you have for future couples looking to elope?
“We highly recommend it! Don’t be afraid to break the mold and do something different. We look back on our day and wouldn’t change anything. It was a great way for us to have quality time with each other and our families.”
