Carly and Shane’s wedding was nothing short of magical, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments shared with their nearest and dearest. The couple decided to put their personalities into every aspect of the day, opting for a mix of do-it-yourself (DIY) elements.
The Start of Their Day
The excitement began as Carly and Shane got ready separately, eager to surprise each other with the details of their outfits. Little did Shane know, Carly had a surprise in store – her dress wasn’t the traditional white gown he might have expected.
When he turned around for their first look, the shock on his face was priceless.
Carly’s choice of a non-traditional green dress perfectly reflected her personality, and Shane couldn’t help but express how amazing she looked. It was a moment of pure, amazing joy that set the tone for the rest of the day.
Friends and Family at Cathedral Rock
The couple, surrounded by their immediate family, gathered at a picturesque spot in front of Cathedral Rock for their heartfelt ceremony.
A dear friend officiated the proceedings, and tears of joy mingled with smiles as Carly and Shane exchanged their vows. Following the “I do”s, the celebration kicked off with a pop of champagne, and the air was filled with the warmth of love and happiness.
Heading to the Airbnb
While not everyone could make it to the ceremony, Carly and Shane made sure to include all their loved ones in the festivities that followed at their rental. As guests arrived, the couple snuck away to catch the sunset in an intimate moment just for the two of them. Against the stunning backdrop of the rocks, they shared their first dance, creating a memory that would last a lifetime.
The evening continued with a delightful array of food and drinks. Tacos, jello shots, and signature drinks dedicated to their beloved pups.
Carly’s thoughtful touch extended to little survival kits for the guests.
Cozy blankets with adorable designs were a hit, creating a warm and loving atmosphere.
WORDS FROM THE COUPLES ABOUT THEIR SEDONA INTIMATE WEDDING
Why did you choose to elope?
“Full-blown weddings are way too stressful to plan and take the focus away from the actual couple. We chose to elope because it was more intimate, and unique and we love Sedona.”
How was your elopement?
“Our elopement was fun and very “us” focused! We had a small ceremony with our immediate family at Red Rock Crossing and celebrated with a champagne pop. We then went to Baby Bell for our hiking photos. Shane and I had never had professional photos taken together so this was a first and we couldn’t have been more thrilled with our location, the sunset, and our amazing photographer! We then held a small reception at an Airbnb with more family and some close friends. It was such a fun day and we had a blast.”
Do you have any regrets about your elopement?
“I forgot my wedding bouquet for the hiking photos lol. But other than that, the only thing I regret is that I tried to please & accommodate every guest, and that took away from our special day.”
What advice do you have for future couples looking to elope?
“This is about you and your partner only! Don’t lose focus on your special day trying to please other people, and don’t stress over the little things. And of course, trust your photographer!”
Review from the couple
“Karen was amazing to work with! She is beyond talented, easy to communicate with, and truly cares about her clients’ happiness. I was at a complete loss with planning our elopement and Karen made it so easy and as stress-free as possible. We are in love with our wedding photos and will be recommending Karen to anyone and everyone who plans to elope! Thank you for making our day even more unforgettable!♥️”
