When Nicole and Patryk reached out to me for their elopement plans, I knew that their wedding was going to be an unforgettable experience. Being the adventurous couple they are, they wanted something cool: to get married during a solar eclipse. I was so excited!
After driving all the way from Arizona, I met up with N+ P to head off roading to their epic sunrise location. When we got there, I parked my Subaru right on the cliff and we caught the very last of the sunset before heading to bed!
Their Unforgettable Day
The next morning, we all woke up early to witness the most stunning sunrise. During this, we captured beautiful bridal photos. As the solar eclipse started, we put on our solar glasses and enjoyed the magical sight together with their dogs and close friends. This was, for sure, a memory we will all remember forever.
After the eclipse, we went back to Moab for the best lunch with their parents and then headed off-road again in 4×4 vehicles.
We found a beautiful spot along the trail, where they had a short ceremony with their guests and took some photos before continuing this adventurous journey.
Their Unique Wedding Keepsake
Nicole and Patryk created a unique keepsake from their special day—a branded cowhide. This symbolizes their unity and is now proudly displayed on their wall.
As the day came to an end, we found the perfect spot for sunset bridal photos, ending with a romantic first dance lit by the headlights of their jeep. With a toast to their love and the adventure, we headed back, holding onto the memories of an incredible day.
Words from the Couple About Their Utah Solar Eclipse Elopement
Why did you choose to elope?
“The choice was very simple! We wanted our dogs with us with an epic view. Eloping let us focus on ourselves and enjoy our day the way we wanted instead of pleasing others! No headaches of planning and guest lists, just an amazing day for the 2 of us and our pups.”
How was your elopement?
“This elopement was truly unreal. We eloped during the solar eclipse. We drove to the middle of nowhere in Utah the night before with our RV + Jeep to be there for sunrise the next morning. The views were spectacular and seeing the solar eclipse was awesome. Unfortunately, our parents couldn’t even find this remote place in the morning so we drove back to Moab for lunch and found a random spot along the way to Hurrah Pass to do our little ceremony which was so awesome! We then continued our journey with Karen to Hurrah Pass for some more epic views, celebrations, and first dance and stayed there until it was dark and off-roaded back into town in total darkness!”
Do you have any regrets about your elopement?
“None at all, it was very spontaneous and adventurous!”
What advice do you have for future couples looking to elope?
“Don’t overthink it, just do it and go with the flow! Karen will help you out with whatever you need as well! You are spending the day with the one you chose to be with forever so make it memorable and fun for the both of you!”
Review from the Couple:
“Absolutely the best elopement photographer you could have! Karen is super flexible (both with planning and getting those crazy angle shots, haha). She makes you feel at ease and gives you awesome tips. We were blown away when we got our photos, totally unreal and way past our expectations. If you are on the verge and here reading reviews this is your sign…..Book Karen Now!”
