Kimberly and Richard’s All-Day Sedona Elopement came together in a way that felt spontaneous, adventurous, and perfectly aligned with who they are as a couple. After getting engaged in September and already having a trip to Arizona planned for November, the idea of getting married during their visit quickly turned into the perfect plan.
Instead of planning a traditional wedding filled with stress, expenses, and expectations, they chose an experience that focused entirely on the two of them. As a result, their elopement allowed them to stay present throughout the day and fully enjoy each moment together.
By choosing a full-day adventure timeline, the experience unfolded naturally from sunrise to sunset. Beginning with an early morning hike and continuing through iconic Sedona locations like Cathedral Rock and Merry Go Round Rock, each part of the day offered a new perspective while still allowing space for quiet moments and meaningful connection.
Words from the Couple About Their All-Day Sedona Elopement
Why Did You Choose to Elope?
“Honestly, we got engaged in September and had a trip booked to Arizona for November. And I asked him if he wanted to get married while we were there and he said yes! A traditional wedding is honestly so expensive and wayyyg too much attention on me or him and also so much stress and headaches. This was beyond perfect and beyond anything we could have ever dreamed or imagined.”
How Was Your Elopement?
“Up at 2am with a fresh pot of coffee for me and Ashe for hair and make up. My two sister sent me an email to read the morning of my wedding and I read it and got emotional. It was so special. I had already shared with Ashe what I envisioned for hair and make up and we just had great convo. Richard woke up later and I gave him a letter from his parents and that made him emotional. We were so emotional! We were so excited never nervous.
Didn’t know what to expect with the sunrise hike but we did it and damn it was fun and difficult and just wild! Got to the top and was in awe. Literally we felt so good the entire day. Laughed a ton. Felt sexy and connected and loved and just open.
Favorite part was probably photos at cathedral and lunch at creek side then ceremony and pics at merry go round and our first dance. That first dance was so special.”
Do You Have Any Regrets About Your Elopement?
“Zero regrets ! I would literally do it every single year!”
What Advice Do You Have for Future Couples Looking to Elope?
“Advice I have is… this was so special because it was just the 2 of us… we didn’t have to worry about feeding other people. Taking photos with 7394 different people. We didn’t have to worry about anyone but ourselves and the truth is, the day is about honoring and dedicating yourself to your spouse and your future together.
We had everything and then some. The most epic wedding pictures ever… private vow exchange, ceremony that I picked out and Patricia added a lil additions, first dance and cake, literally wouldn’t have changed a damn thing.”
Elopement Review
“I cannot say enough great things about Karen. I joined a Sedona wedding FB group and she was recommended and I fell in love with her work. We met a couple times first on zoom and she is so responsive… coming from NJ and super type A I had a ton of questions and she was reassuring and helpful!
We picked the all day adventure and added on extra time for get ready pics… She connected me with hair make up- Ash amazing! officiant – Patricia she made it so special! jeep rental and florals. Literally everyone was top notch top tier level of work and quality.
Day of wedding I was up at 2am for hair and make up… with hardly any sleep and man she made us feel so comfortable. Literally ran up the mountain for sunrise pictures and had a blast! Ceremony and sunset were just as special.
I would do this every single year with her! There’s literally no one else I would have wanted to do this with- it was just me my husband and Karen and she killed it! We love her and are so happy we got to meet her and work with her!”
A Photographer’s Perspective
Kimberly and Richard’s elopement is a great example of how a full-day Sedona adventure can create both variety and balance throughout the wedding experience. Starting the day before sunrise allowed them to experience the quiet stillness of the desert while hiking into the landscape together.
As the day unfolded, each location introduced a new setting and energy. Sunrise views led into portraits at Cathedral Rock and a relaxed lunch in town, giving them time to pause, reset, and enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.
The evening concluded at Merry Go Round Rock with their ceremony, photos, and first dance. With a flexible timeline and space to move between locations, the day felt intentional and unhurried.
When couples design their elopement around exploration, connection, and landscapes they love, the result is a wedding day that feels immersive, personal, and memorable.
